2025 Academy Tracks:
Track A: Finalizing Triennial Wellness Assessments
WSCC Academy Attendees will:
- Receive tailored support to complete their district’s Second LSWP Triennial Assessment to meet USDA requirements
- Develop next steps for improving their district’s school health environment
- Learn from other district teams engaged in improving school wellness using the WSCC model
Track B: High-Quality Wellness Action Planning
WSCC Academy Attendees will:
- Use their district’s Second LSWP Triennial Assessment results to develop action plans to strengthen the school health environment
- Articulate steps to measure the impact of action plans to strengthen the school health environment
- Learn from other district teams engaged in improving school wellness using the WSCC model

FAQs
Should each team member attending the Academy submit a registration form?
No, one team member should complete the registration form on behalf of the entire team. For example, one school-level team member should register for all school-level attendees. Similarly, one district-level team member should register for all district-level attendees.
Who should attend the Academy with me?
We recommend bringing 3-5 attendees to form a district or school-level team.
Potential attendees for district-level teams include:

• Director of Health and Physical Education
• School Nurses
• School Mental Health Professionals
• Board of Education Members

Should all attendees from the same district register together?
Attendees should register together if they are at the same level. School-level attendees should register together, as should district-level attendees. If multiple schools in your district are attending, each school should fill out a separate form.
District-level attendees should NOT register with school-level attendees.
Will we be able to receive support after the Academy?
Yes, teams who attend the Academy will have access to follow-up support from the CT WSCC Partnership as they work to bring their work back to their districts. Additional details will be shared at the Academy.
What does the Academy cost?
The 2026 WSCC Academy is offered at no cost to districts. There is no registration fee and materials will be provided free of charge.
Where is the Academy being held?
The Academy is being held at the UConn Hartford Times Building (10 Prospect Street, Hartford, 06103). The main entrance to the building is located on Front Street (18 Front Street). Please use the doors directly across from the Barnes & Noble.
Where do I park for the Academy and how much does it cost?
Parking will be fully validated for attendees who park in the Convention Center Garage (100 Columbus Boulevard; see parking instructions). The Convention Center Garage is a short walk from the UConn Hartford Times Building. Please bring your parking ticket with you to the Academy to be validated (do not leave it in your car). Attendees are welcome to find on-street parking or to utilize other garages in the area, but we are not able to provide parking validation for those sites.
What should we do for lunch?
There will be a working lunch during the Academy. Food will be provided by the CT WSCC Partnership. If you have special dietary needs, please indicate those in the Registration Form or reach out via email. We will do our best to accommodate special dietary needs but will communicate in advance if we are unable to do so. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own lunch to the Academy if preferred.
